This Privacy Policy explains how DogGo ("the app", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our dog-walking tracking application.
DogGo collects precise GPS location data while a walk is in progress, including when the app is in the background or the screen is locked. This data is used solely to record your walk route and calculate distance. Location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password via Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). This is used only to identify your account and is not shared with any other party.
Walk history (distance, duration, steps, route) is stored locally on your device using Hive, an on-device database. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly share it.
DogGo uses your device's motion sensors to count steps during a walk. This data is processed on-device only and is not transmitted anywhere.
If you set a profile picture, the image you select is stored locally on your device only.
DogGo displays ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalised advertisements in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.
DogGo uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous crash reports. These reports help us fix bugs and improve stability. Crash reports do not contain personally identifiable information.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third parties, except as described above (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob), each of which operates under their own privacy policies.
Walk history and profile data are stored locally on your device and remain under your control. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your Firebase Authentication record and all locally stored data from your device.
DogGo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at homeassistantjohn@gmail.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
